With the rapid development of science and technology and the cross penetration and integration of various disciplines, the glass curtain wall cleaning robot has also developed rapidly, becoming a high-tech industry in the field of service robots and a key research topic in recent years and the future. This paper summarizes the types of glass curtain wall cleaning robots and the research status of the applied technology from the aspects of adsorption mode, moving mechanism, cleaning mechanism and modern intelligent technology. At present, there is still a certain gap between the glass curtain wall cleaning robot and the goal that people are satisfied with. Finally, some suggestions are put forward for the future development trend of glass curtain wall cleaning robot.

To make morphological matrix based conceptual design more efficient, a systematic procedure which enables complete extraction of the feasible solution variants (concepts) is developed. The approach entails: functional decomposition, generation of alternative solution principles for each subfunction, formation of combinatorial solution variants chains, and 3D space matrix and multiobjective concept optimisation-based concept screening. The approach was tested using the conceptual design of river cleaning machine. 625 theoretical concepts are obtained from the morphological matrix. The concepts are screened to 114 feasible concepts and optimised to obtain a preliminary design concept. Consequently, the concept selected for the river cleaning machine is outstanding based on efficiency, manufacturability, repairability and cost.

This paper presents one of the solutions in overcoming the garbage problems. The people sometimes feel too lazy to throw the garbage into proper place due to their habit that has been grown since little kids. In this research, A G-Bot, a robot that has function as the garbage container is offered. By using an Internet of Things (IoT) application, the users can control the motion of the G-Bot wirelessly, so that it can move to the users’ desired location. In addition, the covers of the G-Bot can also be opened using smart phones that connected to the G-Bot. A Blynk that acts as the IoT Application is used in order to set up the G-Bot communication. From the experimental result, it can be concluded that the proposed research has been successful to be implemented. The users can move the G-Bot to the targeted location wirelessly, and they can also open and close the G-Bot’s lids wirelessly trough the mobile phones.
