Design and Development of Low Cost Certified Green Building for Non Residential Existing Building (NREB)

Abstract: The Green Building Index (GBI) is one of rating tool which are provides a prospect for building developers and owners for designing and constructing a green and sustainable buildings. The proposed low cost GBI buildings provide many advantages such as energy savings, water savings, a healthier indoor environment, and better connectivity to public transport. Besides, adoption of recycling and greenery for the projects and can reduce the impact on the environment. However, the implementation to certify as Green … Show more

“…Internal green management recorded a positive link with economic sustainability objectives of cost minimization. Internal green management is usually associated with indoor environmental quality, which is used to achieve good indoor air quality performance, acoustics, visual comfort, and thermal comfort (Kassim et al, 2013). This is consistent with the results found in the United States Environmental Protection Agency (2000).…”

“…Among them are 68 buildings of Non Residential New Construction (NRNC), 54 buildings of Residential New Construction (RNC), 2 from Industrial New Construction (INC), 5 from Non-Residential Existing Building (NREB), 1 Industrial Existing Building (IEB) and 4 from Township (T). However, the lowest budget with higher achievement will be a good strategy for the developers to obtain the GBI certifications [4]. In this paper, the evaluation of lighting luminance effect on Residential New Construction is successfully done based on the DIALux software and light illumination calculation.…”

“…By referring to Association Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM) directory, the concept of green rated buildings are involves key savings drivers on "Electricity" and "Water" utilities and the 6 key elements of Energy Efficiency, Indoor Environment Quality, Sustainable Site Planning & Management, Material and Resources, Water Efficiency and Innovation on every building that to categorized as green rated building [2]. Sustainable green building study was essential to carry out in order to determine the actual cost of the building's operation and maintenance factors [3]. Indeed, the higher cost savings on building's operation and maintenance present at certain cost range in general understanding [4] but actual percentage and cost of saving was not been venture by any researchers on these 2 main type of building namely residential and non-residential of building.…”
