Design and analysis of photonic crystal based fluidic sensor

Abstract: A sensor capable of detecting unknown solution using 2D hexagonal lattice photonic crystal with point defect with specifications as radius of rods 0.19um, back-ground material is varied with respect to fluid taken, lattice constant 1um using FDTD method. The results prsented in this paper are for case studies of Kerosene, Heptanes, Cotton seed oil, Methanol, Cresol, Acetic acid.
