An experiment was conducted with the purpose of evaluating enzyme blends on the performance, carcass traits, and bone mineralization of broilers. In total, 928 one-day-old Cobb 500 male chicks of were used. A completely randomized design with four treatments with eight replicates of 29 birds each was adopted. The evaluated treatments were: 1-Positive Control (PC), feed containing the nutritional recommendations of the genetic company's manual; 2-Negative Control (NC), feed with reductions of 75 kcal/kg AME and 0.10 and 0.12 percent points of phosphorus and calcium, respectively; 3 -NC + enzyme blend (amylase + β-glucanase, xylanase, and phytase; 250 g/t of feed) and 4 -NC + enzyme complex (phytase, amylase, xylanase, glucanase, pectinase, cellulase, and protease; 200 g/t of feed). Birds fed the diet with reduced nutrient levels (NC) presented the worst performance (p<0.05). The supplementation of the enzyme blend promoted similar (p<0.05) weight gain and feed conversion ratio as those obtained with the PC diet during the period of 1-21 days of age. During the phase of 22-42 days and the entire experimental period, weight gain and feed conversion ratio improved with the use of the enzyme combinations compared with the NC group, but remained lower than the PC group. Enzymes combinations did not affect (p>0.05) carcass or parts yields. The broilers fed the reduced-nutrient and energy diet presented lower (p<0.05) tibial ash, calcium, and phosphorus contents that the other treatments. The use of enzyme combinations improved the performance of broilers fed diets with reduced nutrient and energy levels.

-This study was developed with the objective of evaluating reflective paint on covering and artificial ventilation on performance of broilers (males and females). A randomized design with a 2 × 2 × 2 factorial arrangement of treatments was used, as follows: 2 external management systems (coverage with and without reflective paint), 2 internal management systems (with and without artificial ventilation) and 2 sexes (male and female), totalizing 8 treatments. A total of 480 1-day old chicks of the Cobb strain were distributed randomly, according to sex, to treatments. Each treatment consisted of 4 pens -two pens for males and two for females -with 30 birds each. Six birds/pen were sampled. The studies were conducted at IFG-Urutaí Campus. For the performance evaluation, average weight, feed intake and mortality rate were measured weekly.There are differences between the performance of males and females, with males having greater weight gain and increased feed intake compared with females. The use of environmental changes, such as reflective paint or artificial ventilation, fosters weight gain and feed intake by broilers. There is positive effect of combined use of reflective paint and artificial ventilation in the feed intake of birds.

RESUMO -O experimento foi conduzido com o objetivo de avaliar níveis de suplementação de vitamina D proveniente de duas fontes (D 3 e 25-OHD 3 ) em rações para frangos de corte criados em gaiolas. Foram utilizados 1.500 pintos machos de 1 dia, linhagem Cobb-700, alojados em gaiolas metálicas (100) com dispositivos e manejo adaptados para criação das aves.Em cada fase do desenvolvimento (inicial, de 1 a 21 dias; de crescimento, 22 a 38 dias; e final, de 39 a 45 dias), avaliaram-se quatro níveis (programas) de suplementação de vitamina D (20/16/10; 37,5/30/18,8; 87,5/70/43,8 e 137,5/110/68,8 μg/kg ração), oriunda de duas fontes. Os dois tratamentos adicionais foram constituídos da combinação das duas fontes (D 3 + 25-OHD 3 ), em diferentes proporções (50+37,7/40+30/25+18,8 e 50+70/40+56/25+35 μg/kg de ração para as fases inicial, crescimento e final, respectivamente). O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 2 × 4 + 2 (fontes × níveis + adicionais) e 10 repetições por tratamento As rações foram à base de milho e farelo de soja, com suplementação de fitase (500 ftu/kg), segundo recomendações das tabelas brasileiras de exigências nutricionais de animais não-ruminantes.
