Desempenho de cultivares de batata-doce para rendimento e qualidade de raízes em Sergipe

Abstract

AGRONOMIA (AGRONOMY)RESUMO: A batata-doce é uma hortaliça tradicionalmente cultivada em toda a região Nordeste e o estado de Sergipe se destaca por um grande número de pequenos produtores em diversos municípios. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar cultivares de batata-doce quanto ao rendimento de raízes em Umbaúba, SE. Oito cultivares de batata-doce da Embrapa foram avaliadas em dois experimentos no delineamento de blocos ao acaso com quatro repetições nos períodos de julho a novembro de 2013 e maio a setembro de 2014. Foram avaliadas características relacionadas ao rendimento de raiz, além da qualidade de formato e danos de insetos. Não há grande variabilidade genética entre as cultivares avaliadas para os caracteres massa média de raízes comerciais, porcentagem da massa de raízes comerciais em relação à massa total de raízes. Para os caracteres que medem o número de raízes, o índice de formato e danos por insetos, houve grande variação na classificação das cultivares nos dois anos de cultivo. As cultivares Beauregard, Brazlândia Branca, Brazlândia Rosada e Brazlândia Roxa apresentam maior rendimento de raiz, sendo assim as mais recomendadas para a região dentre as oito cultivares avaliadas. The aim of this study was to evaluate sweet potato cultivars to root yield in Umbaúba, SE. Were evaluated characteristics related to root yield, quality of root shape and insect damage. There is no great genetic variability among cultivars for average mass of commercial roots, percentage of roots with commercial mass in relation with total root mass. For characters that measure the number of roots, the shape index and damage by insects, there was great variation in the classification of cultivars in the two years of cultivation. Root production and quality attributes of sweetpotato genotypes in Brasília-DF, Brazil, during two cropping seasons
