“…Although the features of one orthotyline, Lopidea staphyleae , and one phyline, Plagiognathus albatus Van Duzee, 1915, were discussed, Davis (1955) predominantly documented the morphology of the mirines, Lygus lineolaris (Palisot de Beauvois, 1818) and Leptopterna dolobrata (L., 1758). Several revisions (Southwood, 1953;Schwartz, 2004;Cassis, 2008;Forero, , 2009, discussions , and one survey paper (Pluot-Sigwalt and Matocq, 2006) have documented the morphology of the orthotyline female genitalia, but the results of these studies are not all easily compared to the observations of Davis (1955). Therefore, I comment on current usage and highlight structural differences between mirine and orthotyline female genitalia.…”
