“…Indirect immunofluorescent studies have demonstrated that sufferers from chronic ulcerative stomatitis have circulating IgG, and sometimes IgA autoantibodies, specifically targeting the nuclear protein ∆Np63α of keratinocytes in the basal and parabasal layers of stratified squamous epithelium . Circulating immunoglobulins that target epithelial antigens are not uncommon, particularly following active inflammatory processes.…”

“…In about five percent of affected persons, the skin is involved, and there have been reports of concurrent lesions on the genital mucosa and conjunctiva. The etiopathogenesis of the condition is not well defined, but it has been shown that an autoantibody reaction, presumably against a 70 kDa epithelial nuclear protein, ∆Np63α, an isoform of p63 protein, plays an essential role . Glucocorticosteroids, because of their anti‐inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties are the main agents for the treatment of other erosive/ulcerative immunopathogenic mucocutaneous diseases (i.e., pemphigus vulgaris, lichen planus, pemphigoid group of diseases) , however these agents have not been found to be effective in the treatment of chronic ulcerative stomatitis ().…”

“…This gene mapping to X q 12- q 13.1, encoded a ligand Ectodysplasin - A1. Female patients may show partial expression of this abnormal gene [ 2 ]. Hidrotic ED usually presents as an autosomal dominant pattern by changes in the GJB 6 gene, encoding connexin -30 and located in chromosome 13.…”

“…Approximately 85–90% of all ACCs occur in the parotid gland. 1 Here, we presented an exophytic polypoid tumor at the edentulous alveolar ridge of the left maxillary molar region of a 62-year-old female patient.…”
