Necheles, Dommers, Weiner, Olson & Rychel (1942) reported that subpyrogenic doses of pyrogens inhibited gastric motility and stated that they 170 also inhibited gastric secretion, although no data on gastric secretion were presented. Blickenstaff & Grossman (1950), however, using histamineinduced secretion in gastric pouch dogs, found no secretory inhibition by pyrogens without pyrexia.…”
