Denture Plaque Microflora in Geriatric Inpatients and Maxillary Defect Patients

Abstract: There is growing public awareness of the importance of oral health in the elderly and in compromised hosts because dental and denture plaque are closely related to systemic diseases. This study supports the hypothesis that dentures might serve as potential reservoirs of organisms causing systemic infections.
