The article examines the essence of the category public policy refers to the actions and decisions taken by a government or organization to address specific public issues or problems. In Ukraine, expert evaluation activities play an important role in the implementation and assessment of public policy.The article explores the various components of public policy that are involved in expert evaluation activities. These components include problem identification and definition, goal setting, policy development, and monitoring and evaluation. The article highlights the importance of each component in ensuring effective and transparent implementation of public policy.In Ukraine, the presence of competent and independent experts and evaluators is crucial for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of public policy implementation. As such, the article emphasizes the need to develop and improve the field of expert evaluation in Ukraine, in order to ensure high-quality expert and evaluation support for public policy.The first component of public policy in expert evaluation activities is problem identification and definition. This involves the identification of public issues or problems that require action from the government or organization. Experts and evaluators play a critical role in this component by providing insights and recommendations on the nature and scope of the problem, as well as potential solutions.The second component is goal setting, which involves the establishment of specific goals and objectives that the policy aims to achieve. This component is critical to ensure that the policy implementation is aligned with the desired outcomes. Experts and evaluators can provide valuable input in this stage by providing analysis and recommendations on the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed goals.The third component is policy development, which involves the creation of the policy itself. This includes the design of the policy framework, the identification of resources required for implementation, and the development of strategies to ensure successful implementation. Experts and evaluators play a critical role in this stage by providing technical expertise and advice on the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed policy.
