Density Measurements of 2-Propanol Solutions in Supercritical CO2

Abstract: Using a vibrating-tube densitometer, densities of 2-propanol solutions with compositions between (0.72 and 1.89) mol % in supercritical CO 2 have been measured isothermally at (40, 50, 60, and 70)°C at pressures to 34.47 MPa. These measurements span the temperature and pressure ranges of earlier neutron scattering studies of the supercritical CO 2 fluids, and density data are needed to interpret the results. In addition, these results should aid in using supercritical CO 2 for separation or processing with 2-p… Show more

“…[20][21][22]30 The densities of pure substances 18−20 and mixtures 3,21−29 have been investigated by many researchers. Dai et al 20,21 measured the density of the mixture of CO 2 and styrene at 313/323/333/ 343 K with a maximum pressure of 34.47 MPa. Yun et al 22 measured the density of the binary mixture of ethane and its cosolvent.…”

“…Density is an important property parameter in scientific and engineering applications. The measurement method of the density is divided into two categories: one is the direct measurement based on the relationship of quality and volume , and the other one is the indirect measurement based on the relationship of density and other physical quantities. , The densities of pure substances and mixtures , have been investigated by many researchers. Dai et al , measured the density of the mixture of CO 2 and styrene at 313/323/333/343 K with a maximum pressure of 34.47 MPa.…”
