Abstract: Befunde, Determinanten und Konsequenzen Kurzfassung Der Beitrag untersucht die Demokratiestrukturen in neun asiatischen Transformationsstaaten. Ausgangspunkt ist Lijpharts Unterscheidung von Mehrheitsund Konsensusdemokratie. Die Studie zeigt, dass Lijpharts zweidimensionales Demokratiemuster in Asien nicht existiert. Dieses zentrale Untersuchungsergebnis deckt sich mit neuen Analysen zu Osteuropa, die ebenfalls keinen Nachweis der Demokratiedimensionen von Lijphart erbracht haben.
