Demographic Dividend and Social Well-Being in Burkina Faso: Evidences From Household Living Conditions Surveys

Abstract: The aim of this paper was to analyze the impact of demographic dividend on social well-being in Burkina Faso using data of Household Living Conditions Surveys with vector correction model. The findings show that the demographic dividend is the key driver of social well-being at long time. However, harnessing the demographic dividend is accompanied by an increase in consumption of electricity per capita and inflation that reduce the impact of the demographic dividend.
