Delivery of Nanoparticles for Treatment of Brain Tumor

Abstract: Nanomaterials provide a viable potential diagnosis mechanis. In the future, more research needs to be focused on developing a better diagnosis tool for detection of cancer on an urgent basis. Blood-brain barrier and cytotoxicity are some of the primary root causes for the impediment of treatment of cancer using nanoparticles. Therefore, different delivery systems should be exploited for the nanoparticles to surmount these issues.

“…To build a self-assembly structure, camptothecin is conjugated with short oligo ethylene glycol. This can enable the patient to overcome drug resistance [9][10][11][12][13] . Similar to these conjugates, the nanoparticles that originate from the polymer self-assembly are highly effective.…”

“…The recent treatments available for cancer have had problems in the activation of cancer cells and targeting. Nanotechnology has proved to be a better method to treat the cancer patients and reduce the toxicity of the chemicals used 7,23 . Amphiphilic dendrimer including hydrophilic dendritic shell tends to promise a better drug delivery system due to the ease in preparation and high biocompatibility.…”

“…The first section of this review details about the assembly of peptides while the next part discusses more on the influence of peptide-based ligand on the health of the patient. Peptides quickly turn into proteins and can penetrate to the top layer of the patient's skin thereby having a long-term impact of the medicine [6][7][8][9][10][11] . The final part of this report discusses how peptides can serve as better drug delivery mechanism leaving a significant development in the health aspect of the person.…”

“…Due to the unique size range of nanomedicines, they are particularly suitable for delivering anticancer drugs because of an “enhanced permeability and retention effect” (EPR) [Maeda et al, ]. The EPR effect allows nanomedicines to be selectively transported into tumor cells compared with healthy cells [Kang et al, ; Liu et al, ], thus, avoided off‐target toxicity [Kang et al, ; Han et al, ]. Nanomedicines can also enhance the solubility of delivered drugs and prolong their circulation time, which taken together can potentially improve anticancer efficacy [Nie, ].…”
