“…This finding reinforces the need to perform a thorough lymph node exam in SOTRs with skin cancer history 24 . Much like in the general population, the most common extra-nodal site of metastasis in SOTRs was the skin, particularly of the scalp and face 24 . Relapse of primary tumors was evident with all skin cancer types.…”

“…The most frequently used immunosuppressive regimen in our patients was a combination of mycophenolate mofetil, tacrolimus and prednisone. We feel the change in immunomodulation from agents such as azathioprine and cyclosporine to mycophenolate mofetil and tacrolimus in our population likely contributed to the lower rates of SCC development and subsequent mortality when compared to older studies 24,37 . Studies on another sub-type of immunosuppressant, mTOR inhibitors, have shown beneficial effects in SOTRs with non-melanoma skin cancers.…”

“…Previous studies demonstrate an association between solid organ transplantation and an increased risk for solid cancers, particularly SCCs. [7][8][9]28,29 Conventional BMT also appears to increase the risk of developing skin cancer, particularly squamous cell of the skin and buccal cavity. [10][11][12][13][14] Curtis et al 14 compared clinical characteristics of 183 patients who developed secondary cancers (58 SCCs, 125 non-SCCs) and 501 matched control patients within a Table 3 Chronic GVHD in six patients who developed skin cancer after NMAT 11 reported a cohort of 56 patients that were followed for a minimum of 40 months following conventional BMT for aplastic anemia and leukemias; three patients developed secondary malignancy of the skin or oral mucosa, including two SCCs and one melanoma.…”

“…PLK dažnai vystosi iš ankstesnių odos pažeidimų, pavyzdžiui, aktininės keratozės -dažniausios ikinavikinės odos ligos. PLK organų recipientams pasižymi agresyvesne klinikine eiga: dažnesni atkryčiai ir metastazavimas, todėl ligos prognozė šiai pacientų populiacijai yra blogesnė [17,18]. BLK yra antras dažniausias piktybinis odos navikas, išsivystantis po organų transplantacijos.…”
