The present work aims (1) at documenting, by regional seismic transects, how the structural style varies in the western High Atlas system and its prolongation under the present-day Atlantic margin, (2) at understanding how this variation is related to the local geological framework, especially the presence of salt within the sedimentary cover, and (3) at discussing the exact geographic location of the northern front of the western High Atlas and how it links with the most western Atlas front in the offshore Cap Tafelney High Atlas. Previous work showed that the structural style of the Atlas belt changes eastward from a dominantly thickskinned one in central and eastern High Atlas and Middle Atlas of Morocco to a dominantly thin-skinned one in Algeria and Tunisia. We propose here to show that a similar structural style change can be observed in the other direction of the Atlas Belt within its western termination, where the western High Atlas intersects at right angle the Atlantic passive margin and develops into a distinct segment, namely the High Atlas of Cap Tafelney, where salt/evaporite-based décollement tectonics prevail. te ´le ´de ´tection hyperspectrale constitue aujourd'hui, a `travers la spectrome ´trie du terrain, un outil puissant pour la discrimination et l'identification pre ´cise et rapide des surfaces mine ´rales. L'objectif de ce travail est l'identification spectrale des facie `s carbonate ´s dans le Haut Atlas atlantique marocain, afin de mettre en place une librairie spectrale re ´gionale pre ´paratoire a `la re ´alisation de cartes re ´gionales a `haute re ´solution spatiale. Les spectres acquis dans le visible-Infrarouge (0,4-2,5 mm) ont e ´te ´utilise ´s pour la caracte ´risation et le suivi de l'e ´volution de l'e ´tat diage ´ne ´tique des dolomies du Lias infe ´rieur de la coupe d'Arigh Ouzla, dans l'anticlinal du Jbel Amsitte `ne. La se ´paration des facie `s et la prise en compte de la diversite ´des phe ´nome `nes d'alte ´ration ont impose ´la normalisation de retrait des effets superficiels de dissolution et la restriction de la fene ˆtre spectrale pour e ´viter la superposition d'information. Les bandes d'absorption caracte ´ristiques varient entre 2,319 et 2,323 mm et ne changent pas entre surfaces de dissolution et cassures fraı ˆches. Ces valeurs refle `tent le caracte `re totalement dolomitique des facie `s et permettent d'estimer le degre ´de diagene `se, d'ou `des pre ´cisions par rapport aux descriptions pe ´trographiques et se ´dimentologiques pre ´ce ´dentes. L'analyse des spectres a montre ´qu'une relation entre degre ´de cristallinite ´et profondeur de la bande d'absorption pouvait e ˆtre e ´tablie.
