Decision-Making of Irrigation Scheme for Soybeans in the Huaibei Plain Based on Grey Entropy Weight and Grey Relation–Projection Pursuit

Abstract: To provide a scientific reference for formulating an effective soybean irrigation schedule in the Huaibei Plain, potted water deficit experiments with nine alternative irrigation schemes during the 2015 and 2016 seasons were conducted. An irrigation scheme decision-making index system was established from the aspects of crop water consumption, crop growth process and crop water use efficiency. Moreover, a grey entropy weight method and a grey relation–projection pursuit model were proposed to calculate the wei… Show more

“…The station is located in a typical transitional zone of subtropical and temperate monsoon climate (latitude 33 • 09 N, longitude 117 • 22 E, altitude 19.7 m). Over the years, the precipitation has changed greatly from year to year, and meanwhile it is unevenly distributed during a year, which results in frequent agricultural droughts in this region [32]. The soybean experimental periods were both from June to September in the 2015 and 2016 seasons.…”

“…Sci. 2023, 13, 111 10 of 13 effects in the grain-filling stage (R5-R7), in which water availability is known to significantly influence yield formation [10,29]. According to Bošnjak [11], drought during seed filling has a significantly larger negative effect on the yield due to pod shedding and less dry matter accumulation than if water shortage had occurred earlier in the growing season.…”

“…The weights for calculating a multivariate index of sustainable development are calculated with the EWM in [49]. A gray EWM and a gray relation-projection pursuit model was proposed in [50] to calculate the weights of criteria for soybean irrigation schedule in the Huaibei Plain. In [51], EWM was used for providing collective information of the entropy weights methodology applied to different machining operations which compute the objective weights.…”
