“…As such, further investigations into the potential of PL to act as a decellularizing agent are necessary. The only nonionic detergents other than Triton X-100 to be investigated for use in decellularization are Tween 20 and Tween 80, both of which consistently produce inadequate decellularizations apart from a study by Chaschin et al 67 who found that inclusion of Tween 80 in decellularization of human aorta by supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) was beneficial. [64][65][66] Zwitterionic detergents share properties with both ionic and nonionic detergents.…”

“…In contrast, a significant amount of cytoplasm was noticed to be scattered across the ECM, especially in Tw-20 ( Figures 4C, D ) and CHAPS tissue ( Figures 4E, F ), both in ID and PD. Since Tw-20 is a mild detergent known to solubilize lipids and proteins under specified conditions, it was recognized that it decellularizes tissue slowly and leaves cytoplasm behind, making it an unsuitable option for decellularization ( Chaschin et al, 2022 ). In ID, TX-100 exhibited shrunken cytoplasm, which could be seen adhering to the broken ECM network ( Figure 4G ), while SDS ( Figure 4I ) and SDC ( Figure 4K ) have the same shrunken cytoplasm accompanied with discrete strands of ECM.…”

“…There is plenty of research considering synthetic materials for vascular grafting [1,2,[27][28][29][30][31][32]. However, opinions on the importance of complete resemblance of native vessel biomechanics before the graft vitalization were divided.…”

“…Calcification is one of the most frequent complications of vascular grafting. This problem is not specific to artificial scaffolds but is also relevant to xenogeneic and allogeneic materials [26][27][28][29][30][31]. Scientists have been facing implant mineralization in different animal models, with devices made of different materials [31][32][33].…”
