“…The presence of super-kdr mutations strongly suggests that the C. hemipterus population found in Korea is highly resistant to pyrethroids. Considering that the pyrethroid resistance level in C. lectularius populations in Korea has already reached a near-saturation level and increased pyrethroid resistance has been also observed worldwide in the 2 Cimex species (Lewis et al 2020, 2022), caution should be exercised when establishing a control strategy. In addition, since the climbing capacity of C. hemipterus is known to be far superior to that of C. lectularius (Kim et al 2017), the use of standard C. lectularius traps may not work against C. hemipterus , and thus a more sophisticated control strategy is required.…”
