Abstract:O artigo a seguir propõe uma comparação crítico-teórica entre The Life and Opinions of Tristam Shandy, Gentleman, de Laurence Sterne e Divórcio, de Ricardo Lísias. Busca-se aproximar o romance do século 18 em primeira pessoa, visto por muitos críticos como sátira genérica com elementos autobiográficos, do romance autoficcional contemporâneo, que repete e exacerba tais elementos e mecanismos ao infinito, a partir da análise do pacto de leitura e da suspensão estatutária entre discursos real e ficcional.
