ResumenLos tres poemas castellanos del temprano siglo XIII que integran el Ms. Esc. K-III-4 (Libro de Apolonio, Vida de Santa María Egipciaca, Libro de los tres reyes de Oriente) presentan una valoración similar de la salud y la enfermedad medieval, que se percibe en las metáforas médicas y las curas milagrosas que se reiteran de un poema a otro, dando cuenta de una clerecía castellana en la que se conjugan la educación universitaria y el sentido cristiano de su tarea poética. Key Words: Health, disease, 13 th century poems, manuscript context La inclusión de tres poemas del temprano siglo XIII, pertenecientes a distintos géneros y tradiciones textuales, como el Libro de Apolonio, la Vida de Santa María Egipciaca y el Libro de los tres reyes de Oriente, en el manuscrito K-III-4 de la Biblioteca de San Lorenzo de El Escorial, fechado a fi nes del siglo XIV, plantea un contexto codicológico que no debiera desatenderse en el abordaje y análisis de los poemas, ya que ese contexto remite a las formas de su transmisión y recepción, inicialmente conjuntas 2 . Este trabajo se orienta, en este sentido, a indagar en la valoración de la salud y la correspondiente visión de la enfermedad en los poemas que integran el códice K-III-4, como parte de una aproximación histórica del fenómeno que considere, en su complejidad, tanto los conocimientos y saberes propios de una clerecía medieval formada en el ámbito de las
