Data on elemental composition of the medicinal plant Hymenaea martiana Hayne (Jatobá)

Abstract: This data article provides elemental compositions profile, determined by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES), of the medicinal plant Hymeneaea martiana Hayne which belongs of the family Fabaceae (Leguminosae). It is a tree that demonstrates medicinal purposes as antioxidant, immunomodulatory (Boniface et al., 2017) [1], microbial, antiviral, hepatoprotective, gastroprotective (Almeida et al., 2012) [2] and antifungal (Souza et al., 2010) [3].The content of 13 elements (Al, Ca, Cr,… Show more

“…e digestion was performed by adding 3.0 mL of HNO 3 (65%; Merck), 1.0 mL of high-purity water (18 MΩ·cm; Milli-Q, Millipore, Bedford, MA, USA), and 2.0 mL of H 2 O 2 (35%; Merck) to the sample. All vessels with the samples of plants were placed in the microwave digestion system (Speedwave 4-Microwave Digestion System; BER-GHOF Products + Instruments GmbH), according to the digestion program instruction depicted in Table 1 [23,24]. e microwave oven heating program was carried out in three steps.…”

“…Subsequently, the dried samples were crushed and sieved (stainless steel sieve, 200 μm granulometry). Approximately an amount of 0.25 g roots of B. floribunda was digested with 3.0 mL of HNO 3 (65%, Merck), 1.0 mL of high-purity water (18 MΩ cm, Milli-Q, Millipore, Bedford, MA, USA) and 2.0 mL of H 2 O 2 (35%, Merck) in microwave digestion system (Speedwave four, Berghof, Eningen, BW, Germany), according to the digestion program presented in Table 4 [1] . The resulting solutions were cooled and diluted to 30 mL with high-purity water.…”
