Data model for the collaboration between land administration systems and agricultural land parcel identification systems

Abstract: a b s t r a c tThe Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) of the European Union (EU) has dramatically changed after 1992, and from then on the CAP focused on the management of direct income subsidies instead of productionbased subsidies. For this focus, Member States (MS) are expected to establish Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS), including a Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS) as the spatial part of IACS. Different MS have chosen different solutions for their LPIS. Currently, some MS based t… Show more

“…This could be improved by geo-referencing farmers' crop choices to farm plots (Walsh and Crews-Meyer, 2002). Therefore the Land Parcel Identification System (Inan et al, 2010) is expected to be available in more countries. In the driving force analysis of decision making, we used actual decisions as the dependent variable, which were resulted from accumulated behavior from past to present.…”

“…Data providers may recognise that their activities form a kind of 'supply chain' with activities performed in co-operation with other parties to meet society's expectations. A very good example of using and integrating spatial information in the SII is the combination of the (agricultural) Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS), including a Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS) with its own LPIS Core Model (LCM) with the LADM (Inan et al, 2010, ISO 2011a. The SII can be used to share the relevant pieces of information between LPIS and LADM systems.…”
