Green communication is an innovative research area to find radio communication and networking solutions that can significantly improve energy efficiency and resource efficiency of wireless communications without compromising the QoS of users. It contributes to global environment improvement and achieves commercial benefits for telecommunication operators. The main goal of designing green base stations is to save energy and reduce power consumption while guaranteeing user service and coverage and ensuring the base station's capability for evolution. In a wireless network base station, power consumption is the biggest issue. With global warming and energy crises becoming the most compelling environmental challenges, green solutions are a common issue to be handled. Hence, the primary focus of the “Green cellular network” is saving power in base stations to “care for planet and operator’s valet.” we reviewed a few techniques for saving power consumption and improving energy efficiency in base stations. However, many technical challenges for base station architecture redesign, heterogeneous network deployment, radio resource management, etc., need to be addressed for energy-efficient base stations.

Abstract-Data centers use more than 1.5% of all electricity in China and the U.S., with continuing growth. This paper reviews the power hierarchy levels within modern data centers. It considers energy consumption and power electronics challenges across all levels of a data center, including building distribution, dc architectures, and conversion down to the board level. Power electronics plays a central role throughout the hierarchy, and emerging approaches are described. Strategies that enhance center energy efficiency, both in terms of overall center operation and in terms of computation performance, are discussed.Index Terms-Data centers, dc distribution, dc-dc converters, server racks, power utilization factor, dc power architecture, digital power.

Data centers are fast-growing electricity consumers. Electric power system configurations and energy management opportunities are discussed across all levels of a data center, with emphasis on building distribution and dc conversion. Several strategies that enhance center energy efficiency are discussed. The general issues are related to energy and reliability needs of telecommunications power systems. It is shown that best-case scenarios based on emerging methods can achieve energy reductions approaching 30% for data centers.
