Abstract: The information system of the Federal Health Monitoring System (http://www.gbe-bund.de) offers as an online database a wide range of coordinated health information in words and figures. High-performance software tools allow the information to be researched, analyzed flexibly, and downloaded onto the user's own PC for subsequent processing.
