Dance, Originality, and Otherness: The BPI Method and the Brazilian Cultural Manifestations

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to investigate dancer-researcher-performer (BPI), the Brazilian method of dance composition that was created by professor Graziela Rodrigues in the 1980s. The article aims at showing how such practices are developed from the experience of a performer in relation to some popular manifestation such as a festivity or another cultural event.
