“…The hydroxy group is usually linked at C-2 or C-7. The presence of the hydroxy group at C-9 is more frequent among dihydrophenanthrenes (e.g., 43 – 49 ) compared with the phenanthrenes ( 97 ). The second most common substituent is a methoxy group, mainly at positions C-2, C-4, C-5, and C-6.…”

“…In a more recent study, it has been demonstrated that the reduction of migration and invasion of H292 cells by TDB was reduced by decreasing migration-regulating proteins, including integrins αv, α4, β1, β3 and β5, as well as activated focal adhesion kinase (pFAK), activated Ras-related C3 botulinum toxin substrate 1 (Rac1-GTP) and cell division control protein 42 (Cdc42) [ 29 ]. Fourteen bibenzyls and bibenzyl dimers from D. fimbriatum were tested for their cytotoxic activity against five human cancer cell lines: human promyelocytic leukemia cells (HL-60), hepatocellular carcinoma cells (SMMC-7721), human alveolar basal epithelial cells (A-549), breast cancer cell line (MCF-7) and colorectal adenocarcinoma cell line (SW480) [ 30 ]. Among these bibenzyl derivatives, fimbriadimerbibenzyl A, B, E, F and G exhibited broad-spectrum and moderate cytotoxicity with IC 50 values range from 5.85 to 21.23 µM.…”

“…The stems are used for the stomach, to improve the production of saliva, and to decrease fever. 7 The leaves are reported to induce the production of body fluid. In balm form, they are applied to fracture areas to strengthen bones.…”
