Cyanoacetamide Intermediate in Heterocyclic Synthesis: Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Hitherto New Dioxoisoindoline Heterocyclic Derivatives

Abstract: Innovative poly‐substituted heterocyclic rings incorporating dioxoisoindoline (2–25) were synthesized through the reaction of dioxoisoindoline derivative 2 as starting compound with various types of reagents. All compounds were characterized by appropriate means of (1H‐NMR, 13C‐NMR, IR, and mass). The prepared compounds were evaluated as antimicrobial agents against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans microorganisms. The tested compounds exhibited low to moderate antibacterial activit… Show more

“…Thus, in the present work, synthesis of compounds having a combination of 8-hydroxyquinoline and sulphonamide moiety would be described to afford less toxic and more potent drugs in the field of medicinal chemistry. In continuation of our previous work on the synthesis of biologically active compounds [28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35], the aim of the present work is to synthesize series of some substituted 8-hydroxyquinoline derivatives incorporating sulphonamide moiety. The synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, 1H NMR and mass analysis spectroscopic tools and tested against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.…”
