Cutoff frequency in metamaterials photonic crystals within Terahertz frequencies

Abstract: By employing the characteristics matrix method, we have investigated the transmission properties of one-dimensional dielectric–semiconductor metamaterial photonic crystals (PC) at Terahertz (THz) range theoretically. The numerical results show the appearance of cutoff frequency within THz range. Furthermore, the thicknesses of the constituents materials and the filling factor have a significant effect on the cutoff frequency. The proposed structure may be useful in many applications, particularly in THz freque… Show more

“…These values are crucial for thin film devices used in terahertz data transmission, as they align with the requirements of 6G technology, operating in the spectral range of 100 GHz to 30 THz. [22,41,42] In order to obtain detailed information about the optical conductivity parameters of the La 6 Ge films as terahertz filters the imaginary part is modeled using Drude-Lorentz approaches for optical conduction. The model is summarized by the equations [26] 𝜀…”

“…From the optical techniques, the most popular one is the photonic crystal periodic structure. [7][8][9][10][11][12] Photonic crystals (PCs) have the possibility to control the electromagnetic waves propagation with different frequencies. One of the most important features which exhibited by the PC designs is the photonic band gap (PBG).…”
