“…These findings were similar to those described earlier by Liberman et al (14) and by Marchant et al (4). Sanders et al (17) presented two cases of secondary cutaneous angiosarcoma, of which one showed a rapid initial enhancement followed by a steady state, and the other showed rapid wash-in followed by a rapid decrease in enhancement. Hence, they suggested that detection of a small focus of enhancement in irradiated thickened skin on dynamic breast MR images is more helpful than enhancement kinetics are.…”

“…Unlike primary angiosarcomas, which may manifest within the breast parenchyma, radiation-induced angiosarcomas most commonly manifest as cutaneous tumors and may be quite difficult to detect clinically, resulting in a diagnostic delay of many months, since they arise in the background of radiation-induced benign skin changes and most often manifest as painless, discolored cutaneous macules or nodules. Stewart-Treves syndrome is a rare, slowly developing form of cutaneous angiosarcoma that is associated with chronic lymphedema following radiation treatment (50)(51)(52). At MR imaging, cutaneous angiosarcomas manifest as enhancing cutaneous masses as small as 1 mm in irradiated breasts (50), with varying kinetic patterns (Fig 28).…”

At MR imaging, cutaneous angiosarcomas manifest as enhancing cutaneous masses as small as 1 mm in irradiated breasts (50), with varying kinetic patterns (Fig 28). In one case report, Stewart-Treves syndrome manifested as a lobulated cutaneous mass with low signal intensity on T2-weighted images, slightly higher signal intensity on T1-weighted images, and diffuse enhancement (52).…”

“…Cet examen a un rôle crucial pour le bilan d'extension locale (notamment l'infiltration des plans musculaires profonds) et la planification du geste chirurgical. On notera également que des cas d'angiosarcomes secondaires cutanés ont été décrits à l'IRM [8,9], caractérisés par des foci au sein de la peau épaissie suite à l'irradiation.…”
