Orahua is an oral tradition in the form of traditional deliberations of Nias people, while daro-daro is a stone chair of architectural works from the megalithic era where the oral tradition of orahua is held. The existence of orahua and daro-daro is weakening as the authority of indigenous governments declines in the face of a formal system of government strengthened by the state. This research examines the survival and change of the existence of orahua and daro-daro. It employs a qualitative approach as a research methodology. Data collection involves observations of the traditional event and in-depth interviews of the participants.It is noted that orahua and daro-daro is diminishing as a practice due to various factors. Efforts to preserve orahua are carried out by adapting in line with socio-cultural changes that occur. The community maintains the exclusivity of daro-daro as a historical architectural work while maintaining its sacredness as a place for carrying out orahua rituals. Preservation of orahua depends on the tradition to continue to function amid leadership dualisms. It is also noted that orahua and daro-daro represent the cultural identity of the Nias people and the survival of orahua and daro-daro supports the preservation of the cultural identity of the Nias people.

The Gendhing accompaniment for Murdanata Dedarining Aringgit is a newly composed musical piece designed to accompany the Murdanata Dedarining Aringgit dance, which serves as the mascot dance of Nagasepaha village in Buleleng Regency, Bali. Data for creating this piece were gathered through literature studies, observations, interviews, and discography (recordings). The primary question guiding this creation was: 'What is the creative process involved in composing the accompaniment for the Murdanata Dedarining Aringgit dance?' The creative process involved three stages: exploration, improvisation, and formation. The key findings of this creation include: (1) The Gendhing accompaniment for Murdanata Dedarining Aringgit is a novel composition rooted in Balinese karawitan musical concepts, (2) The structural framework of the Gendhing utilizes the Tri Angga concept, comprising Kawitan, Pengawak, and Pengecet, and (3) Both the Gendhing and the Murdanata Dedarining Aringgit dance emerged from a collective desire to establish a new musical language that fulfills the community's evolving cultural needs. This creation underscores the inseparable unity between the Gendhing accompaniment and the Murdanata Dedarining Aringgit dance, thus serving as a cultural representation of the people of Nagasepaha village in Buleleng Regency, Bali.

PurposeThe present study addresses the literature gap on cultural linkages, traditions, cultural recognition and the perceived benefits of consumers in the orange economy. The article focuses on analyzing the impact of traditions and cultural linkages on the relationship between cultural recognition and the perceived benefits of consumers.Design/methodology/approachThe empirical study is conducted on a sample of 393 consumers from the city of Arequipa, Peru utilizing structural equation modeling (SEM) with Smart PLS software.FindingsThe research results demonstrate that traditions and cultural ties are important factors that entrepreneurs must consider in the production and marketing process to enhance the benefits perceived by consumers by providing cultural identity within the products.Originality/valueThe study provides theoretical implications that fill the existing gap in understanding the relationship between cultural recognition and perceived benefits. Additionally, it offers practical implications for the development of the cultural ecosystem, involving artisans, artists, cultural managers, entrepreneurs, businessmen, government authorities, non-governmental organizations and international organizations.
