“…Computerized tomographic angiography with its three-dimensional advantage is commonly using diagnostic application for intracranial aneurysm detection and preoperative surgical planning. In the literature, the diagnostic sensitivity of computerized tomographic angiography was reported between the range of 70% and 96% depending on the size and location of the pathology (3,7,8,11).…”

“…3D rotational DSA has become increasingly used since its introduction in the last decade and has overcome the limitations described for 2D-DSA. It is reported that 3D-DSA can depict more aneurysms than 2D-DSA alone (8,37,38). Mc Kinney et al (22) published a study on the comparison of the diagnostic value of 64-slice CTA with 3D-rotational DSA, and reported that 3D-DSA is more sensitive than 64-slice CTA in detecting intracranial aneurysms.…”

“…It should delineate the morphological characteristics of the aneurysm, such as size (maximal diameter of the aneurysm and diameter of the neck), configuration, presence of thrombosis or calcifications, relation with the parent artery, presence of branch arising from the sac and relation with the surrounding soft tissue and bone (22,24,38). It is crucial to be aware of these characteristics to appropriately choose the treatment option (surgery or endovascular treatment) and minimize the operational complications.…”

“…Therefore conventional angiography necessitates the use of the contrast medium at a high quantity (13) and a lot of time. These limitations reduce the diagnostic accuracy of DSA (1). But it can be improved with rotational angiography (14).…”

“…Cranial computed tomograph-angiography (CTA) has been increasingly used during the last 10-15 years for the early diagnosis of ruptured intracranial aneurysms (1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(7). CTA is more dependent on the technical parameters used, than being patient-dependent.…”
