When modeling a business process or when updating an existing one, a business analyzer is available to reuse business parts already operational. Indeed, to minimize time of creation and to reduce cost and complexity, a solution can be given by the reuse of some existing business parts. The need to reuse of some business parts to fulfill companies’ requirements leads to the need of extracting business fragments from the business process model. The aim of this paper is to propose a method which enables to obtain a business fragments from a business process. The main idea is to decompose a business process into small fragments. These fragments have the ability to be reused for building a new business process or updating an existing one. The method the authors propose is presented as guidelines that allow the decomposition of business process to enable having a reusable business fragments, their method is based on variability in business process modeled in BPMN. The method also takes into account the business goal of each extracted fragment. The proposed method is presented as a process along with a meta-model to facilitate the understanding of the concepts related to BPMN. An algorithm that illustrates their method is also presented in order to use it for a further implementation. The paper also includes users’ experiments to validate our method.

The dynamic formation of a consortium, combining the most adequate set of competencies and resources to satisfy the needs of each new situation sounds indeed as a very appealing approach. However, reaching a rapid ‘alignment' among a diverse group of heterogeneous entities is not simple and may require a considerable time to achieve. In this collaborative context, the integration of industrial partners depends strongly on the ability to use a collaborative model to interact efficiently. In this paper, the authors propose a model to tackle this point according to the fact that the partners of the collaboration may change. They propose the development of an approach to achieve a dynamic inter-company collaboration. In this cooperation mode, many companies share their resources, data services and processes. These companies have their own mechanisms and applications, which are heterogeneous. First, the authors define a framework to establish this kind of collaboration. The purpose of this solution is to keep the company architecture and to ask the mediator for playing an intermediary role between companies. Then, the authors propose a service selection mechanism based on the agent technology and on the decision tree paradigm. They present an offline composition service process. Finally, they illustrate their solution with an example of treating an emergency case to show the feasibility of the proposed model.

International audienceWith the deep development of economic globalization, companies tend now to collaborate closely with each others to improve their competitiveness. The problems of interoperability have recently been the subject of considerable amount of studies. In this paper, we propose a mediation based approach, which allows to a set of heterogeneous companies to cooperate. So, they can form a company network called SoS “system of systems”. The purpose of this solution is to keep the company architecture and to ask the mediator that is a software-based agent to play an intermediary role between companies, and to make the transformation between companies as well. We define a dynamic and cooperative inter companies model. The dynamic aspect gives the possibility to change the collection of services involved in the collaboration. Our model combines the agent technology and the decision trees paradigm. This last facilitates making decision by selecting the services that best meet customer needs, in order to create a composite service. The realization of the offline composition process by mediator saves the response time. Once the service is executable it will be published to permit its reuse
