“…Figure 1a shows the XRD patterns of as-received, fifth, and tenth run reused Fe 78 Si 9 B 13 ribbons. As can be seen, all the XRD patterns present a broad diffraction peak at a range of 2θ = 40-60 • , indicating that they are mainly composed of the amorphous phase [53][54][55][56][57]. Clearly, the maximum diffraction peaks at 2θ = 52.6 • and 95.7 • exhibit a higher diffraction intensity with the increased reused times, which is because crystallized α-Fe is gradually formed on the surface of the Fe 78 Si 9 B 13 ribbons during NGB degradation process under the UV-vis irradiation [58,59].…”

“…Owing to the shape of the DRS-UV-vis spectra of both silver vanadates, the band gap was estimated from the onset of the absorption edges (Table 1) [18]. The values calculated by the edge extrapolation are 2.26 and 1.95 eV for AgVO 3 and Ag 3 VO 4 respectively, slightly lower than the values reported by other authors [6,18] but adequate for visible-light driven photocatalysis. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy has been used to study the surface element composition of the catalysts.…”

“…In conclusion, although the original catalyst is modified during the reaction it describes high photocatalytic activity. In our work, unfortunately, the preparation of Ag 4 V 2 O 7 by microemulsion methodology was not possible, but it has been reported that this pyrovanadate is photoactive under visible light [6]. In our case, although the Ag 3 VO 4 is modified during reaction, the formation of pyrovanadate active phase and the presence of Ag 2 O/Ag 0 couple appear as the synergistic combination responsible of achieving a highly active system upon visible light excitation.…”

“…The hybridization of the O 2p 6 orbitals with the completely filled 4d 10 orbitals of silver ions could form a VB at a more positive energy level than that of O 2p 6 , resulting in a narrowed band gap. On the other hand, the bottom of the conduction band consists of relatively delocalized s and/or p orbitals, which are largely dispersed and can accommodate high photogenerated electrons and holes mobility, resulting in enhancement of photocatalytic activity [27].…”
