“…A search of the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) version 5.34 (Nov 2012) for metal urates identified only three metal salts: sodium urate monohydrate (MSU, NAURAT), lead diurate monohydrate (PbUr 2 ·H 2 O, DITKEX), and two polymorphs of a magnesium complex, each of which consists of 2 urates, two water molecules, and a hexahydrated cation (MgUr 2 ·8H 2 O, BADTEX). Molecular complexes with guanidinium ions (XANDEV) and methylene blue (UGEXIN) were also found in the search. The crystal structure of ammonium acid urate is unknown, but a proposed structure based on refinement of powder X-ray data has been put forth .…”
