Abstract:CaLiPb, hexagonal, P6m2 (No. 187
Source of materialThe title compounds were synthesized starting from the elements (Ca 99.5%, Yb 99.9%, Li 99.9%, Pb 99.999%), by induction melting in tantalum crucibles sealed by arc welding under argon.
Experimental detailsA refinement in the space group P3m 1, where the closely related structure of CaLiSn [1] was originally described, was made for both compounds, resulting in slightly higher disagreement factors and standard deviations.

“…CaLiPb crystallizes in the hexagonal YbAgPb type structure with space group P6m2 (No. 187)[54]. The crystal structure of CaLiPb is shown as an example in Fig.2(a), in which the three Pb atoms are located at two nonequivalent crystallographic sites: 2h(1/3, 2/3, 0.1533) and 1f (2/3, 1/3, 0.5), thus form three triangular lattices which have the same structure as the prototypical structure.…”

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
