“…Long range ferromagnetic ordering occurs in 2, whereas there is long range antiferromagnetic ordering in 3-5. [11] From the structural analysis of 1, besides the shorter Cu-N ax distances, significant hydrogen bonds and van der Waals interactions could enhance the interchain magnetic interactions, and thus result in 3D magnetic ordering. Consequently, complex 2 exhibits a 3D ferromagnetic behavior with T c of about 10 K, which is determined from the FC and ZFC magnetization, as plotted in Figure S4 in the Supplementary Information.…”

“…In order to further clarify the effect of the metal ions and pendant groups on the crystal structures and magnetic character of such macrocyclic assembled systems, we have synthesized two new hexacyanochromate-based macrocyclic coordinaexhibits a 1D chain structure, which is completely different from the reported 3D structure of [CuL 3 ] 2 [Cr(CN)6 ]ClO 4 ·0.5H 2 O[11] because of the change of the pendant groups. For example, the 3D framework complex [CuL 3 ] 2 [Fe(CN) 6 ]ClO 4 · H 2 O [12g] was transformed into 2D structural [CuL 4 ] 3 -[Fe(CN) 6 ] 2 ·2H 2 O [10b] when butyl groups were employed instead of propyl groups in the pendant group.…”
