Crowdsourcing planar facility location allocation problems

Abstract: Facility location allocation is key to success of urban design, mainly in designing transport systems, finding locations for warehouse, fire stations and so on. The problem of determining locations of k facilities so that provides service to n customers, also known as p-median problems, is one of the well-known N Phard problems. Several heuristics have been proposed to solve location allocation problems, each of which has several limitations such as accuracy, time and flexibility, besides their advantages. In … Show more

“…So many organizations are facing challenges to find accurate locations of the facilities. Better accuracy is achieved by a crowdsourced game which is used to solve the problems of facility location allocation (Allahbakhsh et al, 2019).…”

“…An emergency medical facility location-allocation scheme is urgently needed following the declaration of a public health emergency. LAP is an NP-hard problem [ 17 , 18 ] that can be effectively solved by heuristic algorithms. The proposed effectiveness means that solutions can be obtained using the heuristic algorithm within a reasonable computational time.…”

“…Other studies have considered LA models for improving the spatial planning of public health services (Polo et al 2015) and the optimising health-care facilities in highly developed cities (Zhang et al 2016). More recently, Allahbakhsh et al (2019) developed a crowdsourced game which "employs wisdom and intelligence of the crowd" to solve LA problems.…”
