CREDO: a new general-purpose laboratory instrument for small-angle X-ray scattering

Abstract: The details of a newly constructed small-angle X-ray scattering instrument are presented. The geometry of the instrument is highly customizable, enabling it to address vastly different experimental situations from academic research to industrial problems. The high degree of motorization and automation compared to conventional laboratory-scale SAXS instruments facilitates the alignment and daily use. Data reduction routines are incorporated in the instrument control software, yielding fully corrected and calibr… Show more

“…Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) measurements on the cochleate samples were carrried out with a CREDO instrument integrated with a GeniX 3D Cu ULD microfocus system (Xenocs SA, Sassenage, France) for producing X-rays and a Pilatus-300k CMOS hybrid pixel position sensitive detector (Dectris Ltd, Baden, Switzerland) [22,23]. The recorded 2D…”

“…33 X-rays were supplied by a GeniX 3D Cu ULD integrated beam delivery system (Xenocs SA, Sassenage, France). The highly monochromatic Cu K a radiation (0.15418 nm wavelength) was collimated by three pinholes of sizes 300, 300 and 400 mm diameter.…”
