Crane Stability Assessment Method in the Operating Cycle

Abstract: The article presents stability assessment of the mobile crane handling system based on the developed method with the use of the mathematical model built and the model built in the integrated CAD/CAE environment. The model proposed consists of the main crane assemblies coupled together: the truck with outrigger system and the base, the slewing column, the inner and outer arms, the six-member telescopic boom, the hook with lifting sling and the transported load. Analyses were conducted of the displacements of th… Show more

“…The methodology [ 31 ], presented in Figure 2 , was used in simulation testing to assess the stability of the mobile crane handling system. The simulation model built with the use of the integrated CAD/CAE system makes it possible to assess the stability of the crane system on the example of the HIAB XS 111 crane with the proposed interaction and control system [ 2 , 3 ].…”

“…Kacalak, Budniak, and Majewski [ 30 , 31 ] proposed a stability assessment method of the mobile crane handling system with the use of a mathematical model and a model built in the integrated CAD/CAE environment. The article [ 32 ] described a computer-aided analysis using computational intelligence methods for the analysis and simulation research of a crane system during sequential movements.…”

“…3 shows the importance of considering the role of geometric dimensions in achieving dynamic balance during operation as a necessity for safety [32,34]. Many scientific kinds of research have been concerned with studying the design, construction, and dynamic control of cranes operation in construction projects [35]- [38]. Most of the research has focused on the study of the dynamic to insuring and achieving safe operation [37]- [39].…”

“…These forces of various origins could cause a loss of stability or a decrease in accuracy at the end-point. The former was studied both in terms of structural [8,9] and dynamic stability [10,11]. The other research on dynamic properties of loader cranes concerned tip over stability of mobile boom cranes [12].…”
