Cracks in the gearbox of car hegemony: struggles over the German Verkehrswende between stability and change

Abstract: The automobile permeated Western societies in the twentieth century and enjoys hegemonic protection. Nevertheless, profound changes in mobility are looming, posing new challenges for mobility research.
