In 2020, the world changed due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Containment measures to reduce the spread of the virus were planned and implemented by many countries and companies. Worldwide, companies sent their employees to work from home. This change has led to significant challenges in teams that were co-located before the pandemic. Agile software development teams were affected by this switch, as agile methods focus on communication and collaboration. Research results have already been published on the challenges of switching to remote work and the effects on agile software development teams. This article presents a systematic literature review. We identified 12 relevant papers for our studies and analyzed them on detail. The results provide an overview how agile software development teams reacted to the switch to remote work, e.g., which agile practices they adapted. We also gained insights on the changes of the performance of agile software development teams and social effects on agile software development teams during the pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic is having a negative impact on corporate cybersecurity in terms of workforce habits and digital skills, awareness of cyber hygiene, and the rapid shift to remote work solutions. It has also reiterated the importance of employer-led risk management practices in line with employment habits. During the COVID-19 pandemic the remote workforce has diversified and increased in numbers, offering employees the opportunity to continue working, the availability of which is also facilitated by the national approach to improving the epidemiological situation, which mandated wider use of remote work for those whose work specifics allow it. The study analyzed the current cyber risks and challenges affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as risk management approaches or security controls. The novelty of research relates to the identification of changes in working patterns and their correlation with applied control measures for the management of cybersecurity risks. Data collection tools such as questionnaire and interviews with experts were used. Research conclusions reflect that the approach of companies and organizations to cyber risk management, providing a form of remote work organization is tailored to the industry, the nature of the information processed, the computer skills of employees, and pre-COVID-19 investments in corporate cybersecurity and digital transformation. Employers and information security managers are likely to continue to pay increased attention to limiting the risks associated with the human factor, which has become more multi-faceted during the COVID-19 pandemic, given the psychoemotional challenges of remote work experienced by a large proportion of workers.

Exploring the temporal aspect of B‐IT social alignment on operational level: A reflexive thematic analysis

The success of IS change implementation on the operational level is surrounded by challenges that mainly concern cross‐departmental management and people issues involved in the implementation process. Different organizational departments are entrained to different temporal structures that shape the temporal context of business and IT (B‐IT) communication. Through reflexive thematic analysis, and semi‐structured interviews with 32 business and IT professionals from 7 banking and 2 telecom corporations in North Macedonia, we identify the key time dimensions and temporal events affecting B‐IT communication. We propose a new construct, temporal B‐IT social alignment, and we define it as B‐IT‐SU (shared understanding) of cross‐departmental temporal structuring that enables and constrains the B‐IT communication in the process of translating business demands into IT requirements on the operational level. Findings show that establishing strong structural linkage through interface actors mitigates only some of the challenges in IS implementation resulting from different temporal aspects. Furthermore, we found that the identified time dimensions as well as entrainment to different temporal structures and events have a significant impact on achieving B‐IT‐SU and B‐IT‐SA (shared agreement). We advance the view of B‐IT social alignment, and we synthesize lessons that can be learned from this study that have practical implications.
