Covert Channel Using Man-in-the-Middle over HTTPS

Abstract: The goal of this covert channel is to prove the feasibility of using encrypted HTTPS traffic to carry a covert channel. The encryption key is not needed because the original HTTPS payload is not decrypted. The covert message will be appended to the HTTPS data field. The receiver will extract the covert channel and restore the original HTTPS traffic for forwarding. Only legitimate HTTPS connections will be used as the overt channel. A Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attack at the sending and receiving ends will give a… Show more

“…This value is close to the O−H bond length in H 2 O gas molecules (0.958 Å). 33 Figure 4b shows the formation energy of proton interstitials as a function of E F at different temperatures (T) and the low H partial pressure p H2 ≈10 −4 Pa. The calculation results indicate that H 0 species are unstable, whereas protons are formed when E F is near the top of the valence band.…”

“…London homeowners dig down as property prices shoot up [32]. The lexical level is represented by the metaphor "dig down" ("to be generous, as if one were reaching deeply into one's pocket for lots of money"), which vividly demonstrates the necessity of London homeowners to spend large sums of money due to a drastic surge in real estate prices.…”

“…There are a number of common databases that provide the thermochemical properties of a variety of compounds, such as NIST, 1 Active Thermochemical Tables (ATcT), 2–4 Third Millennium Thermodynamic Database (TMTD), 5 and Computational Chemistry Comparison and Benchmark DataBase (CCCBDB). 6 The experimental data from these databases can help to validate the reliability of the theoretical calculation based on quantum chemical methods. In practice, the group additivity (GA) method, developed by Benson and co-workers, 7,8 is widely used to estimate thermochemical properties including enthalpy of formation, entropy, and heat capacity as a function of temperature.…”
