Covalent combination of polyoxometalate and graphitic carbon nitride for light-driven hydrogen peroxide production

Abstract: A B S T R A C TThe polyoxometalate (POM) cluster of [PW 11 O 39 ] 7-(PW 11 ) has been successfully covalent combined with the three dimensionally ordered macroporous graphitic carbon nitride (3DOM g-C 3 N 4 ) through the organic linker strategy. The characterization such as solid-state NMR and XPS results confirm the organosilicon agent of (triethoxysilyl)-propyl isocyanate can act as the linker to covalent combine the PW 11 cluster with 3DOM g-C 3 N 4 . The hybrid catalyst of 3DOM g-C 3 N 4 -PW 11 exhibits … Show more

“…Oxygen atoms are usually present as bridging and terminal oxo ligands . The POMs have attracted the considerable attention of researchers in catalysis due to their fascinating structures and excellent physic‐chemical characteristics Among their various structures, sandwich‐type transition metal POMs have been developed as catalysts for the oxidation of alcohols, sulfides, and for the epoxidation of hydrocarbons . The clusters of POMs are soluble in most of the polar solvents, causing difficulties in the separation and recovery, which is an important restriction for catalytic systems .…”

“…Especially, it is a common strategy to give photocatalysts with 3DOM architecture through using silica nanospheres with three dimensionally closed‐packed structure as hard templates . Although many photocatalytsts with 3DOM architecture have been reported, 3DOM g‐C 3 N 4 material with homogeneous wall thickness is rare through precise controlling the size of silica nanospheres method …”

“…The results obtained proved that the P 5 W 30 played a main role in ORR electrocatalysis and GO promoted the shift of E onset to ≈80 mV. A POM cluster of [PW 11 O 39 ] 7− (PW 11 ) covalently combined with graphitic carbon nitride (g‐C 3 N 4 ) was also reported …”
