Coupled-Equation Theory with a Self-Consistent Optical Potential for Scattering and Rearrangement Collisions

Abstract: A set of coupled equations with a self-consistent optical potential which is explicitly expressed in terms of a set of functions constructed to account for the polarization, correlations, and short-range interactions is derived for scattering and rearrangement collisions. Applications of the self-consistent coupled equations to several atomic collision problems are considered. Numerical illustrations are given for the investigation of the resonance structures in elastic {e, H) scatterings.
