Cost–volume–profit analysis under uncertainty: a model with fuzzy estimators based on confidence intervals

Abstract: HAL is a multidisciplinary open access archive for the deposit and dissemination of scientific research documents, whether they are published or not. The documents may come from teaching and research institutions in France or abroad, or from public or private research centers. L'archive ouverte pluridisciplinaire HAL, est destinée au dépôt et à la diffusion de documents scientifiques de niveau recherche, publiés ou non, émanant des établissements d'enseignement et de recherche français ou étrangers, des labora… Show more

“…We obtained similar results to those we obtained in previous papers [12,22] investigating another Mediterranean lake-Lake Karla in Thessaly, which also has a hypertrophic character [16]. We used fuzzy linear regression for the construction of the parameters' fuzzy numbers [21][22][23][24] and compared the results with the method of fuzzy estimators. Similarly, we considered that the dependent variable was chlorophyll and all the others were independent.…”

“…In general, the methodology of fuzzy sets comprises a mapping from a general set X to the closed interval [0,1], which is described by its membership function [16]. Therefore, the above constraint can be easily achieved since the membership function takes values between zero and one.…”

“…In this paper this is achieved by the introduction of fuzzy estimators and more specifically with the so called a-cuts which are formally described in the next section. The method adopted in this research was originally developed and published in recent work by Tsironis et al (2010) and Chrysafis and Papadopoulos (2009). Upon detection of a DDoS attack, the next step would be to identify the offending hosts.…”
