Cost of inappropriate antimicrobial use for upper respiratory infection in Japan

Abstract: Background: Antibiotics are often prescribed inappropriately to patients with upper respiratory infection (URI) in ambulatory care settings; however, the economic burden of such prescription has not been quantitatively assessed.
