Corrosion Resistance of Modified Hexagonal Boron Nitride (h-BN) Nanosheets Doped Acrylic Acid Coating on Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel

Abstract: The hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) nanosheets modified by silane coupling agent (KH560) were doped into acrylic acid coating on the surface of galvanized steel to improve its corrosion resistance. H-BN nanosheets modified by KH560 were prepared and characterised by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. The corrosion resistance of the acrylic acid coatings was measured by electrochemical testing. T… Show more

“…Compared with the CCTO 0.75 @BT 0.25 sample, the FTIR of CCTO 0.75 @BT 0.25 @KH560 have absorption peaks at 2958 cm −1 , 2871 cm −1 , and 1085 cm −1 , respectively. Among them, the absorption peaks at 2958 cm −1 and 2871 cm −1 were from the symmetric and antisymmetric absorption peaks of CH 3 and CH 2 of the silane coupling agent KH560, respectively 34 . In addition, the absorption peak at 1085 cm −1 was the absorption vibration peak of SiO on KH560 35 .…”

“…Among them, the absorption peaks at 2958 cm À1 and 2871 cm À1 were from the symmetric and antisymmetric absorption peaks of CH 3 and CH 2 of the silane coupling agent KH560, respectively. 34 In addition, the absorption peak at 1085 cm À1 was the absorption vibration peak of Si O on KH560. 35 These results show that KH560 had successfully modified the CCTO 0.75 @BT 0.25 particles.…”

“…Materials based on BC x N y , having low atomic masses and covalent bonds, being simultaneously light and high strength, exhibit a hardness in a wide range of values [3,15,16]. It should be noted that h-BN [17,18], B 4 C [19], h-BC x N y [20,21] and BC x N y /graphene [22] coatings with high thermal and chemical stability have proven their effectiveness in metallic corrosion resistance.…”
