Corrosion mitigation of mild steel in hydrochloric acid solution using grape seed extract

Abstract: Plant extracts have gained a lot of attention due to their ecofriendly nature for corrosion inhibition. In this study, we examined the inhibition performance of grape seed extract as an eco-environmental inhibitor for mild steel in hydrochloric acid medium. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, potentiodynamic polarization, and electrochemical noise techniques were employed to study mild steel's electrochemical behavior in the hydrochloric acid solutions containing grape seed extract. Results depicted that g… Show more

“…CPE1 in the figure represents the double layer capacitance (Cd) model, which assumes that H2O and other ions are adsorbed on the surface [43][44][45]. In Figure 4d, the experimental data illustrated by spheres align closely with the fitting results indicated by the solid line, indicating the suitability and reliability of the chosen equivalent electrical circuits (EECs).…”

“…GC-MS investigation of grape stems extract represents that aldehydes are the main constituent. These compounds may adsorb on the aluminum surface via the oxygen atoms nonbonding pair and stimulate a protecting lm to separate the Al from the aggressive species [ 15,21]. Effect for apple peel -grape stems extract mixture.…”
