Correction of machining operations with the Total Inertial Steering

Abstract: Abstract. The Total Inertial Steering approach proposed in this paper can perform an optimum correction of the geometric deviations of the manufactured part with respect to its digital model, from the measured points on its surfaces. In the case of production by machine tool numerical control, there exist a link between the tool offsets and deviations of measured points. An incidence matrix which represents this link is obtained. In most cases, this matrix is not square and therefore not invertible, because th… Show more

“…He showed that we can optimize the setting by optimizing a parameter of distance introduced in the program. Work on the matrix setting approach of machines has been conducted in particular by Boukar et al, 2014;Boukar et al, 2015; 2017; Pillet and Pairel 2011 in the context of inertial tolerancing introduce by Pillet, 2001. In this article, we propose an extension of the inertial steering method that we previously proposed by going beyond the geometrical parameters of the part to steer the machine. In addition to steering the geometrical parameters, we introduce the control of the cutting force and the torque measured from an experimental assembly.…”
